Crews are almost finished building the traffic detour at 14 Street and 90 Avenue S.W. Once the traffic detour is complete and traffic is switched over, crews will begin piling and excavating for the underpass bridge on the south side of the intersection.
The pathway at the northwest corner of the intersection is closed until mid-April, while crews finish building the traffic detour. Signs have been placed to inform pedestrians where to access Glenmore Landing during this time.
After work is completed on the temporary traffic lights at 14 Street/90 Avenue S.W., crews will install permanent traffic lights at 14 Street/Heritage Drive S.W. Crews will also be working along 14 Street and on 90 Avenue relocating utilities.
On April 8, 2018, traffic will shift to the north onto a road detour, while crews work on the south half of the underpass and vehicle bridge.
The traffic detour maintains the existing number of lanes – three eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes on 90 Avenue. Drivers will be able to turn northbound onto 14 Street and westbound onto 90 Avenue as they do today. See the turn movements in this image .
Lane closures are typically scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. For this week, there is one 24 hour lane closure required.
