Garden Committee
Are you passionate about gardening, green spaces, and making a positive impact in our community? We have started a garden committee and are looking for volunteers to help maintain and enhance our shared green spaces. Please email garden@haysboro.org to get involved.
Join us June 1 for “Turn Your Street into Bumblebee Lane and Plant Exchange"! Help our pollinator friends by picking up free wildflower seeds! Bring some plants from your garden and exchange them for new ones! Come meet the Haysboro Gardening Committee and chat all about flowers, trees, and bees!
TIME: June 1st 1:00pm to 3:00pm
WHERE: Haysboro Hall - in the green space by the fire pit
WHAT TO BRING:
Got extra garden goodies like perennials, herbs, veggies, or annuals? Bring them to our Plant Share and swap with neighbours! It's a fun, eco-friendly way to green up our community and connect with fellow gardeners.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Pot up healthy plants a few days ahead (4" pots or clean containers with drainage). Bring an assortment - variety is the spice of life! When choosing plants to share, ask yourself, “Would I like to have this in my garden?”
- Label them with the plant name, bloom colour, and height.
- Please avoid invasive or aggressive species—check abinvasives.ca for guidance.
- On June 1st, gather your plants and bring them to the Plant Share intake table at the event. Plant sharing will take place from 1-3pm. Bring your plants early and browse the plant selections as they arrive. This is also a great opportunity to chat with fellow gardeners, ask questions and share experiences.
- For every plant you bring, you can take one home! Want extras? You can take up to 3 more with a small donation to the HCA.
- Leftover plants will go to our community garden projects!
